Based in Pessac, close to Bordeaux in south west of France, FluoSurf aims to developp and sell high-performance fluorinated surfactants for biotechnologies and droplet-based microfluidics.
Currently set in Jean-Christophe Baret's lab at the Centre de Recherche Paul Pascal, we synthetize and characterize an high performance fluorinated surfactant.
As part of a research team in droplet-based microfluidic, we encountered many issues to get fluorinated surfactants for our research with a satisfactory quality. We found companies that provided surfactant with the good structure, but the purity of these molecules were either not enough or not reproducible for our experiments.
From this assessment, it was decided to investigate (thanks to the ERC that supported this project) the quality of these surfactant to:
The product we propose is issued from the results of this study. Now, we would like to allow people using droplet-based microfluidic tools to work with an adapted surfactant solution.
